ENERGY STORAGE

The largest non-utility owned energy storage portfolio in the U.S.

“Energy storage is a critical element of ensuring the reliable integration of renewable energy. This dedicated platform for renewable generation and storage is part of what differentiates REV Renewables, and is the latest reflection of LS Power’s ongoing commitment to deploying clean energy technologies.”

— Paul Segal, CEO of LS Power and Chairman of REV Renewables

Accelerating the energy transition

REV’s history with energy storage dates back to 2014 with LS Power’s acquisition of a 508 MW Pumped Storage Hydro project in Pennsylvania.

Today REV operates a broad mix of Pumped Storage Hydro and Lithium-ion Battery Energy Storage projects, with additional storage projects under development.

In addition to balancing the intermittency of renewables, our storage portfolio provides ancillary services such as frequency regulation that are critical for grid resiliency and efficiency.

By reliably integrating and storing weather-dependent renewable energy, Rev is actively accelerating the clean energy transition across our nation.

Battery Storage

We have a track record of creating necessary solutions to energy’s biggest challenges.

Through our parent company, LS Power, REV Renewables is an established market leader in utility-scale batteries. Our 40 MW Vista Energy Storage project was the largest battery in America when energized in 2018. We also developed and constructed the 250 MW Gateway Energy Storage project, which was the highest capacity battery project in the world when energized in 2020.

Pumped-Storage Hydropower

Providing dependable long-duration energy storage, pumped-storage hydropower can provide up to 7-10 hours of runtime, compared to 1-4 hours typical for lithium-ion batteries.

REV owns and operates the largest non-utility-owned portfolio of pumped storage hydropower in the U.S.
